Vascular Surgeon

Dilip Naik MBChB, FRACS, DDU(Vascular)

Dilip Naik is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, formerly Clinical Leader of Vascular Surgical Services (2000-2016) at Capital Coast Health.

He is a graduate of Otago University and did his postgraduate training in General Surgery predominantly in Wellington and his advanced training in Vascular Surgery at the Royal Melbourne and Royal Brisbane Hospitals in Australia. He has a Diploma in Vascular Ultrasound and is the Clinical Director of Vascular Ultrasound Services.

He is highly trained and experienced in arterial surgery including aortic, carotid and peripheral vascular surgery.

He has extensive training and experience in all aspects of vein treatment including sclerotherapy, thermal ablation and surgery.

In association with Dr Billy Cheung an Interventional Radiologist, all endovascular treatments are offered – including balloon angioplasty and stenting.

He is an affiliated provider for Southern Cross Healthcare.

Interventional Radiologist


Dr ‘Billy’ is a specialist Interventional Radiologist with 25 years experience. He has performed thousands of interventional procedures using minimally invasive techniques as treatment options alternative to surgery.

He provides a comprehensive range of services, including angiograms and angioplasty, stenting and endovenous ablation for varicose veins.

Practice Manager

Rachel Hyde, Registered Nurse

Rachel is our Practice Manager and Registered Nurse with a background in surgical and emergency nursing. Rachel previously led a team of 12 specialists and 6 nurses in private practice and we are privileged to now have her leading our team. Her role is to provide nursing support to the vascular team, assisting you on your patient journey and managing the day to day running of our practice and all our staff.


Vascular Sonographer

Jo Meredith DMU(Vascular) AMS(Vascular), Charge Vascular Sonographer

Jo started his career as a Radiographer before training in the specialist area of vascular ultrasound. He has worked with Wellington vascular surgeons for 12 years. As a Sonographer Jo plays an important role in the diagnosis of many vascular conditions. He enjoys all aspects of vascular ultrasound with a special interest in venous scanning and quality practice management. As Charge Vascular Sonographer Jo has oversight of ultrasound services to the clinic.

Debbie Kelly DMU(General), General & Vascular Sonographer

Debbie started her career as a Radiation Therapist at Wellington Hospital. She retrained as a Sonographer and has worked in both the public and private sectors for 18 years. Her interests include all areas of vascular and general ultrasound with a special interest in post-operative surveillance, renal transplants and dialysis fistulas.

Together Debbie and Jo bring extensive knowledge and experience to the Wellington Specialist Vein Clinic.


Vascular Nurse

Vicky Conwell, Registered Nurse

Vicky is a member of the NZ Wound Society and has extensive experience in the management of leg ulcers and skin conditions. As Mr Naiks clinic nurse for 10 years in the public sector, she has transitioned to the private sector to continue her interest and passion in delivering gold standard vascular patient care.

Vascular Administrator


Genie is the friendly face you will be greeted by on arrival at our Southern Cross clinic. With an administration background in general surgery, Genie will be managing your clinic appointments with Mr Naik and our Ultrasound clinics. She also takes care of your accounts and is ready to assist you with account matters, insurance claims, appointments and general enquiries.

Steph is our administrator extraordinaire, providing a high standard of clerical and administrative support to our vascular team. She is often the first point of contact on your vascular journey with us, managing our incoming referrals and website enquiries.
